Agalas is a small mountainous village on the westcoast of Zakynthos Island, spread over hills facing the Ionian Sea. The village is surrounded by pine trees and olive groves. In order to get to Agalas you need to head towards Lithakia village and beyond it there is a turnoff leading to this rather small and rural place.
What distinguishes the village of Agalas from other villages on the island is its special architecture with old stone houses and narrow streets. The area is known for its local landmark which is the Cave of Damianos. This is a 2-storey cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites. But except for that visitors can also enjoy the surrounding nature, the Andronios wells, the church with the old bell, the windmills and the wonderful views over the Ionian Sea. Don't miss the chance to find a nice spot and watch the sunset that will leave you speechless.
